Following a structural review we are looking to strengthen our Corporate Management Accounting team based within the HQ Finance department.
We currently have a vacancy for a qualified accountant as Management Accountant – Treasury and Planning. The post holder will work within a small team of management accountants on group tasks but will take the lead on the introduction of cash planning and management and the compilation of income and expenditure forecasts.
Applicants should have advanced Microsoft Excel skills applied to financial costing and planning and experience of working with non-financial colleagues.

Management Accountant: Treasury and Planning
Job purpose:
To assist in the provision of management information to SMT and Trustees enabling accurate corporate decision making and monitoring of performance against agreed financial plans
Reporting to:
Corporate Financial Planning Manager
Reward Band:
FG: £31,463 to £40,719 plus LW £3182 (Pay review pending)
Key activities:
- To lead on budgeting, forecasting and monitoring the organisation’s cash management, providing regular reports and highlighting significant variances in an urgent and timely way.
- To lead on the preparation of regular forecasts of income and expenditure and balance sheet and reporting thereon
- Identification of areas requiring investigation, initiating and completing ad hoc investigations in liaison with other unit accountants.
- To provide advice and support to managers at all levels that will improve the effectiveness and efficiency of financial management.

In order to be considered for this post you will need to demonstrate that you already have:
Experience
- Post qualifying experience
- Experience of working with non financial staff
Qualifications
- Qualified Accountant (ACCA/ACA or CIMA)
Work based knowledge
- Understanding of costing methods
- An appreciation of charity accounting
- Understanding of Charity VAT legislation (or other mixed rate VAT experience)
- Understanding of Gift Aid legislation
Skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Working knowledge of other Microsoft Office programs
- Experience of using a variety of computerised accounting packages
- Understanding of relational databases
