We are looking for an Early Years Supervisor to join the staff team within the brand new 45 place Nursery which is situated within Wiveliscombe Children’s Centre.
The Nursery is open from 8-00am to 6-00pm Monday to Friday and our vision is that the Nursery provides high quality, inclusive and integrated early learning and childcare for children aged 0 to 5.
You will be able to provide leadership and to model good practice. You will have an NVQ 3 and in depth knowledge and understanding of early years learning and child development within the context of the family. You will also have relevant learning and experience from post qualifying work with children under five and their families.

- To work in partnership with parents / carers to promote the well-being and happiness of children and babies within the nursery

Reporting to:

Reward band:
Project Staff I (SA) £14,790 to £19,143 pro rata
Key activities:
- To provide a welcoming environment for all children and their parents / carers
- To work closely with parents in the nursery and within the community to care for each child’s individual needs
- To assist in the development of models of participation to enable children’s voices to be heard in the evaluation and decision making process
- To encourage children to be independent, make choices and become aware of the needs of others
- To support a culture of excellence in play within the nursery through innovation, organisation, monitoring and review
- To lead by example and support trainees, volunteers and junior staff
- To record, store and share information appropriately with regard for confidentiality and safe practice
- To work as a member of the nursery team to plan, prepare, deliver and evaluate nursery activities
- To deputise for the childcare manager when required

Attainments:
In order to be considered for this post you will have to demonstrate that you already have:·

- Level III qualification in Childcare or Play
- In depth knowledge and understanding of early years learning and child development within the context of the family
