As a Fundraising Appeals Assistant you will work on a range of community fundraising appeals with the fundraisers that project manage them. Your role will involve a wide range of activities from speaking directly to supporters, researching their needs and supporting their activities, to working with data lists, writing copy and providing general administrative assistance.
This is an ideal role for someone interested in getting fundraising experience, or who would like to use their office skills in a charity context in their spare time.

Appeals Coordinator

Hours and timeframe:
Anything from a few hours to a full week. Any time you can give would be valued. The role can be short term or ongoing, depending on what you can give.

Objectives:
To assist the Fundraising Appeals team in raising £2million annually.

Tasks:
· Supporter contact – telephone research and support for key supporters
· Assisting with mailings and email campaigns
· Provide support in the project management of appeals
· Potentially organise events in headquarters
· Attend supervision meetings

Skills required:
· Good communication and telephone manners
· Proficiency at Microsoft Office packages, particularly word and excel
· A proactive approach to work
· Good organisation

Training and support:
· An induction programme will be provided
· Continual support and advice through meetings with the supervisor and day to day tasks

Other Information:
· Volunteers will receive reimbursement for travel and lunch expenses (within certain limits and by prior arrangement)
· Volunteers will be managed in line with our Volunteer Policy
· We will interview and take up references for any potential volunteers
