The Children’s Society is a leading children’s charity committed to making childhood better. We work with children across the country, providing the right support at the right time. We commissioned The Good Childhood® Inquiry; the UK’s first independent national inquiry into childhood. Its aims were to renew society’s understanding of modern childhood and to inform, improve and inspire all our relationships with children.
We provide strategic and ‘hands on’ participation services for children, young people and agencies across the borough of Greenwich. We work with children and young people aged 5 – 21 from diverse backgrounds and with diverse needs including looked after children, disabled children and young offenders. We also work in diverse settings such as primary schools, Youth Offending teams, Looked after Children services, and with youth participation groups to further develop their participation practice through mentoring and training.
To help us successfully deliver these services we’re looking for individuals with knowledge, experience and skills to support a diverse range of children and young people as well as the professionals who work with them. To be considered for this post you’ll need to hold a relevant professional qualification within the field of education, social work or youth work. In addition, you’ll need experience of supervising staff/volunteers and of developing and delivering training.
We encourage applicants to contact Veronika Neyer on 0207 358 2004 for an informal discussion about the role before applying.
