As Data Control Manager you will lead in the management of all data entering in the Data Services team. You will develop and implement processes and procedures to manage data integrity, security and quality, and provide the business with technical and business analysis expertise for future data requirements.
You will have extensive and demonstrable experience of developing large volume CRM database systems, preferably within a fundraising or non-profit environment. You will communicate effectively with others on significant departmental or functional matters. Raisers Edge database administration or equivalent skills are essential.
This is a key role within the Data Services team at The Children’s Society, and will help to lead and deliver significant improvements to support the charity’s plans.

Job purpose:
- To lead the Data Services Team in the management of all data entering in the department
- To develop and implement processes and procedures to manage data integrity, security and quality
- To provide the business with technical and business analysis expertise for future data requirements
Key activities:
- To proactively and effectively lead the Data Control Unit in developing the Raisers Edge database in line with the needs of database users
- To effectively manage the import systems of all externally captured data files into the Fundraising Database (Raisers Edge) by Data Services Team Members
- To develop, implement, monitor and document internal and external data capture processes to ensure our data integrity, quality and security is in line with industry best practices
- To identify, investigate and resolve problems identified relating to data integrity, quality and security
- To keep up to date with technical and non-technical developments in the industry, and be constantly aware of how we could apply ideas to benefit the business
- To identify and specify Fundraising database developments relating to business needs, producing technical specifications to enable delivery
- To be the in-house expert and key reference point on all operational issues relating to the Raisers Edge Database
- To project manage work undertaken by internal and/or external technical support to ensure its effective and timely delivery
- To communicate through team meetings and team briefs in order to inform appropriately all team members about The Children’s Society’s vision, mission, values and objectives
- To ensure that opportunities for children and young people to have a voice and influence in our work are prioritised
Attainments:
In order to be considered for this post you will have to demonstrate that you already have:
Experience
- Extensive and demonstrable experience of developing large volume CRM database systems, preferably within a fundraising or non-profit environment
- Designing and implementing business processes for capturing and controlling supporter information
- Significant experience developing systems to increase the integrity of customer data
- Applied knowledge of customer relationship and project management principles
- Excellent communication skills, forward thinking, and able to interpret users analysis needs into appropriate technical terms, and vice versa
- Attention to detail, and appreciation of data quality/ integrity issues relating to relational databases
