We’re committed to putting children and young people at the centre of everything we do – involving them not only in our project work, but also in the decisions we take about the management of the organisation.
As a result, our recruitment and employment processes for all posts must protect the interests of children and young people. We make every effort to ensure that information provided by applicants is accurate by seeking references, checking qualifications and making police checks. There are also well-established procedures to ensure that we’re aware of how staff treat the children and young people they come into contact with – and that any concerns are treated seriously and investigated promptly. All staff – even those who don’t have immediate contact with children and young people – receive training to increase their knowledge of and confidence in handling child protection issues should a concern arise.
